Permanent Makeup
What is Permanent
Makeup? - Permanent Makeup procedures
are safe and effective ways to look
beautiful all the time. It is
actually a tattooing procedure, in which
the pigments are implanted into facial
skin. A topical anesthetic is
applied to ease discomfort. After
the anesthetic takes effect, the actual
procedure is started. The length
of time varies depending on the area
being implanted, pigment shade and your
body's ability to accept the pigment.
Liners and brows are usually an hour
to an hour and a half. Full lip
color is typically two hours to two
and a half hours.
How long
will it last? - The term "permanent"
is used because the color cannot be
washed off. However, the facial
skin is very different from the skin
on other areas of the body and is more
likely to fade. UVA and UVB exposure
is more prominent on the face and since
this area is exposed, these areas are
left vulnerable to the elements.
Usually, color refreshing may be needed
every one to two years. Remember,
the darker the color, the longer it
will last. The lighter the color,
the faster it will fade.

What do I
need to do after I receive Permanent
Makeup? - Proper aftercare is
extremely important. This will
keep your color more vibrant for a longer
period of time. It is very important
that you do not pick at the epithelial
crust after the procedure. This
will remove pigment, leaving gaping
holes in your new permanent makeup.
Keeping the area moist with the correct
treatment products is also very important.
This helps to protect the area and keeps
flaking to a minimum. You will
be given an aftercare sheet prior to
your procedure.
